As most of you know, if you created a Facebook page, you are automatically the admin (it’s always a good idea to have a backup admin!). You can assign different Page roles to those who need different levels of access, but as the business owner, you should retain the admin (highest level possible). Depending on your Page’s settings, anyone who Likes your Page can post directly. The problem most folks are having is, the posts aren’t showing up (hence my friend’s question). Show I started my investigation by sharing one of the posts from my personal profile to my Page. Below is a screen capture of a check-in I did to my AmSpirit Business Connections networking group. In order to share this post to my Page:
Now, if you go check your Page, you may not see the post you just shared. It’s there, trust me – it’s in a different place, and I’ll show you in two more steps. Trust me! (Click the image to make it bigger.)
In short, Facebook has once again managed to confuse many users and moved our Page’s Posts to a new spot on the page. I agree with most: just show the posts in the Page Feed! Sadly, not going to happen. The reason the Page Posts was created was out of response to Page admins complaining about their Page feed getting bogged down with posts. Nice problem to have for those looking for interaction, but the complaints continued, and this was Facebook’s solution. Please let me know if you found this article helpful. If they do share your posts the privacy setting would have to be set to ‘Public’ for the posts to be visible to those who are not your Facebook friends (or friends of friends depending on your privacy settings). It is important to note that you would not create a Facebook Profile for your business, because the only way of connecting with your business would be for others to ‘Add you as a friend” and they would then share all their personal information with you, and vice versa. This isn’t information we usually want to share with those we do business with. Facebook Page – This is created for your business. Prospective and current customers will “like” your page and interact with your posts, they may share comment and like your posts if they are engaging and from there a professional connection can be made. They may also share your posts, it’s important to note that all posts on a Facebook page are public. Facebook Groups – For many business owners wanting to represent their business in a group can be challenging. People on facebook can join groups via their Facebook Profile however businesses cannot join groups via their Facebook Page. Networking groups are common on Facebook. As a business owner on Facebook when you are in a group and want to mention your businesses Facebook Page it can be challenging! … Here is how to do it… Instructions on desktop:Step One: On your Facebook page scroll to the post you wish to share and click on ‘Share’ Step Two: Select ‘Share…’ (as pictured below) Step Three: Then choose where you’d like to share the post: a Group, a Page or choose ‘Copy Link’ so you can use this to post wherever you like 🙂 Step Four: Depending on your selection for Step Three, the next dialogue box will present the next step.
Instructions on mobile:From your mobile it looks a little different but the process is the same. You’ll also have the options to Share to your story or Send in Messenger when you’re using the mobile app, providing you with additional functionality I trust this helps make marketing your business in Facebook Groups and other Facebook Pages easier! How do you share a post to someone's page?1. Locate the post which you want to share and press the Share button in the bottom-right corner of the post. 2. In the pop-up menu that appears, select Share now if you want to instantly share the post or Share to News Feed if you want more control, including the ability to add descriptive text to the post you shared.
Why can't I share a post to my page?Make sure the first pull-down menu says Share On A Page You Manage. If it doesn't, click on the arrow and select this option. Next, make sure the second pull-down menu directly below displays your Page (especially if you manage more than one). If it doesn't, click the pull- down arrow and select the correct page.
