Step 1: Sign in to your Google Drive Account

Open Google Drive on Chrome on your personal computer or your laptop. Make sure that you’re signed in with your email before doing that.

Step 2: Locate the File

Navigate to the location or the folder where you’ve stored the videos you wish to upload on your YouTube channel. It is convenient to save your videos on Drive as it is completely safe. You don’t have to worry about accidentally deleting them from your device or PC.

Step 3: Add Chrome Extension

Find the video that you wish to upload on your YouTube channel directly from your Google Drive, and right-click on it. It should open a submenu consisting of numerous options.

The next steps are concerned with the option ‘Open with’ which should be visible among many other options in the sub-menu.

Our job now is to add the extension that’ll help us in uploading videos to the YouTube channel from Drive. That particular extension will be listed among a few others when you click on the ‘Open with’ option. First, let’s add this extension to our Chrome.

Step 4: YouTube uploader for Dropbox

Open a new tab, and type ‘YouTube uploader for Dropbox’, and click on the link that starts with chrome.google.com. It should take you to the Chrome Web Store, which is a place to find all the available extensions for your Chrome.

You can also search for the Chrome Web Store and then search ‘YouTube uploader for Dropbox’ in it. There should be an option of ‘Add to Chrome’.

Click on it and now the extension will be added to your Chrome. Use the same email as that of your YouTube channel to set up the ‘YouTube uploader for Dropbox’ extension.

Step 5: Choose “Open With”

Do the same as mentioned in step 3, i.e. find the video you wish to upload on your YouTube channel on Google Drive, and right-click on it. Click on the ‘Open with‘ option, and there you’ll see the option of ‘YouTube uploader for Dropbox‘ that we added to Chrome earlier.

Click on it, and now you’ll find yourself in a new window, and that is the homepage of the extension/app. This is our work window.

You can alternatively access this from Chrome without opening the Drive. Look for the ‘Apps’ option on the home screen of Chrome, and click on it.

It’ll open a new screen where you can see and access all of the extensions or apps that are added to your Chrome, and yes, the YouTube uploader for Dropbox will be listed here as well.

Click on it and you’ll be brought to the homepage that we accessed earlier but from Google Drive.

Step 6: Navigate to the video to upload

On the homepage of the extension, you’ll see a lot of options. Our concern for uploading videos to the YouTube channel from Drive is with only two of those options. Click on the ‘Google Drive’ option and navigate to the video that you wish to upload. 

Click on ‘Select’ after clicking on the video that you want to upload.

You’ll now see the option ‘Upload to YouTube’. Don’t click on that yet. There’s a step that comes before that.

Step 7: Add to Upload List

Click on ‘Add to Upload list’ and that should add your selected video to a queue. Now your video is ready to be uploaded on the YouTube channel directly from your Google Drive.

Step 8: Upload Video from Google Drive to YouTube

Now for the last step, click on the option ‘Upload to YouTube’, and that’s it. Depending on the speed of your internet, the selected video from Google Drive that you added to the upload queue in step 8 will start uploading directly to YouTube.

There’s one more thing you need to be aware of. If your browser Chrome has any adblockers enabled, we recommend that you disable them, as the extensions such as the one we mentioned in this article have only one source of generating revenues, and that’s via advertisements.
