How to stop ink from spreading in phone screen

There is nothing more heartbreaking than to see your phone’s screen getting cracked from a simple drop. I know I've been there plenty of times with cheap to expensive smartphones. Though getting a phone screen cracked is a quite common problem, you need to know some ways to cope with the cracked screen. Have you noticed that once the screen gets a minor crack, it starts spreading? If so, you may be wondering how to stop a crack from spreading on phone instead of replacing or taking it straight to a service store. You need to take preventive actions to stop the spreading of the cracked phone. Here are some of the best ways, that I've learned as well as what industry professionals recommend doing:

What to Do When You Crack Your Phone

First, you need to assess the damage and know if your phone’s screen has shattered. There is a chance that there are some small glass particles here and there. So, be very careful and do not cut your fingers. Assess whether the screen of your phone has cracked, or fully shattered. Depending on it, there are some temporary solutions that you can try. Also, you need to determine whether the screen is actually damaged or just the protective layer on it.

#1: Take Some Steps

Why is it important to take immediate steps when the screen is broken? Of course, the smartphones are designed in such a way that the dust, moisture and debris are kept away from entering into the machine. Once the screen cracks, that protection is compromised and your phone is vulnerable to moisture and dust.

#2: Apply a Temporary Seal

If it is just a crack on your phone’s screen, then you can apply a temporary seal to prevent the crack from spreading or growing further. For this temporary seal, you need to apply a compound called cyanoacrylate. Tilt the phone back and forth for covering the entire crack properly. You have to apply it evenly and wipe away any excess left over. Now, let the glue dry first before using. Be advised that this is not a preferred method, and is only a temporary fix. You can also apply a screen protector to cover the crack until you get it professionally repaired.

#3: Go to a Professional

If your phone screen is cracked to a great extent or shattered, then it is best for you to visit a professional. Take your phone to a service center or a  mobile repair professional to get the screen fixed. It is important to take a permanent step in repairing the screen in order to avoid the dust and debris from getting into the phone. Also, this will help you to stop the screen from cracking further causing more problems.

Can you fix a bleeding phone screen?

Unfortunately, turning the device on and off or rebooting it will not help fix the problem. The screen is physically damaged, and therefore a physical replacement of the screen is required. Urgency required more so for those screens suffering from inkblots and bleeding pixels since the problem does worsen over time.

Why is there ink in my phone screen?

Physical damage to your screen mostly takes the form of obvious cracks in the glass, but you may also come across what appears like an ink spot (blot) or bleeding pixels. When the black spot is spreading on your phone screen, you need to have the screen replaced.

How do you fix pixel bleed?

If exposed, mildly loosen the screws at the rear of the display (this can reduce flashlighting) Using a microfiber cloth softly rub the area where the backlight bleeding is prominent (this can reduce backlight clouding) Reduce the screen brightness until backlight bleeding is unnoticeable.

Damaged phone screens usually come in the form of a cracked or chipped screen. However, ink blots and bleeding pixels can equally be a problem for your Samsung. Find out what you can do when you are faced with a bleeding screen.

Samsung Ink Blots and Bleeding Screens

According to Samsung, a broken LED screen can also suffer from ink blots and bleeding pixels. Blacklight bleeding can also be an issue with a broken screen, Mobile Screen Fix added.

Ink blots are the round spots of dead pixels in the screen that may have been subjected to a more gradual pressure that did leave the front glass intact but damaged the screen underneath, Samsung explained.

Bleeding pixels usually show up after the device sustains impact to the edge, and it causes rows or columns of pixels to glitch and displays black or oddly colored lines.

Blacklight bleeding can be a more subtle sign of screen damage but can escalate to a very obvious problem. This happens when the LCD screen is not perfectly adhered to its frame anymore, It Still Works explained. The light shines through the edges of the screen and can be visible when viewing darker images or displays. Blacklight bleeding may not be as obvious when viewing lighter images.

Pixel bleeding and ink blots can worsen over time, per Mobile Screen Fix. The LCD has sustained a lot of damage, and it can "spread" to other parts of the screen. Blacklight bleeding has not been found to worsen over time. However, it can affect the way you view certain images or displays. It is also a clear indication your phone has been damaged, and until diagnostics are run, it is unsure just how far the extent of the physical damage is.

What to Do With a Broken, Bleeding Samsung Screen

Unfortunately, turning the device on and off or rebooting it will not help fix the problem. The screen is physically damaged, and therefore a physical replacement of the screen is required.

Urgency required more so for those screens suffering from inkblots and bleeding pixels since the problem does worsen over time. For Samsung phones suffering from backlight bleeding, the phone owners can still choose to continue using the phone if they wish. However, do note that the seal around the frame or cracks on the screen from the impact can still very much compromise the rest of the phone's housing and interior.

The Samsung phone has sustained substantial physical damage, and although most of the obvious signs are on the outside until a professional has taken a peek inside, there could be damage done to the inside of the phone as well--leading to a faulty battery or loose hardware. This then could possibly cause your phone, in the worst-case scenario, to give up out of the blue, possibly with no way of retrieving the data in it if you have not backed up the data in the phone.

On that note, backing up your phone on a regular basis is a good habit of getting into so that should anything happen to your phone, the precious data in it is not harmed.

For screen replacements, have it done by a professional like Samsung Authorized Service Centers such as uBreakiFix. It is also best to check the phone's service contract and warranty to see if you can get a discount on the repair.

Do not attempt to replace the phone screen yourself if you have not had prior experience or you feel like you do not have the skill set necessary. Please seek the services of an expert so as not to cause more damage than good.
