Best minors for business majors Reddit

I am currently majoring in Business Management and have been debating for a while what I should minor or double major with it. As of right now I plan to double major with Marketing but I have also considered minoring in Computer science/information systems or Entrepreneurship. It has always been a dream of mine to start my own company and I was told Marketing would work well to start my own company but the harsh reality is that most people don’t succeed with starting their own company. Anything sports business related would be my ideal job but not the only career I’d be looking for. If anybody has any tips or personal experiences on the minors/majors I listed or any other minors/majors they would recommend that helped them succeed in the business world or what they believe would help me succeed at full potential all advice would be accepted and appreciated. Thank you!

I just got accepted to Haas for Business Administration. I was thinking about doing another major or more likely a minor. I feel like in the real world a Business Administration degree is very general and common. I want to get something a bit more specialized as well. I was thinking of Data Science or Statistics. Any advice? (I'm a transfer student)

What have you business majors found to be the best minors considering....? from SDSU

Hello! Science major student here who’s thinking about taking a 2nd business major/minor. Which among these business subject areas would you suggest in terms of employment?

Accounting

Banking

Business analytics

Finance

International business

Management

I’m leaning towards Finance (con: no minor, but open to getting a major in it) and Management (not sure about employment after graduation) tho.

My first major is immunology & pathology but I’m thinking of taking a 2nd non-science major to keep my options open after graduation. I also considered getting a non-science major since I was thinking it might help me get a higher GPA (not saying business is easier than science but it would be nice to study something different from time to time). Hope you could help me. Thank you in advance!

I am an incoming freshman with Business, Undecided as my current major. Are there any popular minor choices that go well with different business degrees?

Any ideas on what are some common minors that Scheller students do?

I was thinking Computational Data Analysis, but then I saw a requirement of going through Calc 3 (which I’m not about to do). I’m also looking into Linguistics, Global Development, and International Affairs. But I don’t know which minor that GT offers would be great to pair up with a business degree for employment.

I am currently thinking about adding a minor to my current major and concentration. I wanted to see what you guys thought was the best option for both furthering my career, my abilities, and my potential salaries in the future. I was thinking a Data Science Minor or a UXD Minor. Graphic Design maybe? I am also on summer break, so if there are any online certifications or anything on LinkedIn Learning you guys think is great for a resume and experience, let me know as well.

Hi all, Hopefully I'll get into my schools Business School this upcoming fall. I was considering emphasizing in international business, consulting or real estate although I haven't figured this out yet. I also have all of my Gen Eds done and would like to fill my spare time with a minor.... but i'm not sure which one. I would like something that would be beneficial upon graduation, but not incredibly boring. I've considered things that i'm very interested in (cognitive science, spanish), but am unsure of how useful they would be. I am now considering a comp sci minor (have done a bit of html), and a PR/Advertising minor. Are any of these useful? For those of you who have graduated with or are working towards Business degrees, whats a useful minor?

Hello everyone I’m an incoming freshman planning on majoring in business. The issue is that I’m not sure if I should minor in the entrepreneurship track offered through the econ department, computer science, or Spanish. Entrepreneurship would be great if I ever wanted to start my own business, I’ve heard that computer science knowledge is very beneficial in the modern workplace, and an increasing number of people in the US have Spanish as a first language. I am also considering a double minor. What course of action seems like the best choice to you guys?
