Who is the ceo of teen nick

Nick’s apology was later accepted by ViacomCBS, and he was reinstated as host of Wild 'N Out, which returned in April of 2021. A spokesperson for MTV spoke with People about Viacom’s decision to let Nick return.

"Nick has not only apologized and taken responsibility for his comments, but he has also worked to educate himself and others through engagement with Jewish leaders and on his platforms," they explained.

Keep in mind, Cannon held his TeenNick chairman position since 2009, an almost 11-year long position.

NEW YORK, Aug. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Nickelodeon has extended multi-talented, actor/comedian/artist/producer Nick Cannon's deal as Chairman of TeenNick through Jan. 2012, it was announced today by Cyma Zarghami, President, Nickelodeon/MTVN Kids and Family Group.  At the helm since March 2009, Cannon will continue his role in front of the camera and behind the desk of TeenNick, Nickelodeon's 24-hour network exclusively for and about teens and tweens, to help develop, produce and create original programming across the channel's multiple platforms.

"Nick is a quintessential millennial and has a unique connection to this generation," said Cyma Zarghami, President, Nickelodeon/MTVN Kids and Family Group.  "Having grown up at Nickelodeon, we are confident that his groundbreaking vision and ideas will continue to make TeenNick one of the most popular destinations for teens and tweens, on-air and online."

TeenNick posted its highest-rated and most-watched quarter ever with total viewers and teens 12-17 in 2Q10.  Most recently, the original two-hour Degrassi TV movie, "The Heat is On" (Monday, July 19, 9 p.m. ET) set a new record as the highest-rated and most-watched telecast in the network's history with 1.2 million total viewers.

Cannon's on-air initiatives for the network this year include The Nightlife, hosted and executive produced by Cannon, showcasing the latest trends in fashion, music, dance and entertainment.  Airing every Thursday night in August from 9:30-10 p.m. (ET), The Nightlife will also feature celebrity guests, including Ice Cube, Anna Kendrick, Travie McCoy, New Boyz, Brandon Routh and T.I., in an exclusive club setting with a dance floor DJ'd by Cannon himself.

In addition, Cannon will also return as creator, host and executive producer of the second annual TeenNick HALO Awards, an hour-long special that pairs four mega-celebrities with four extraordinary teens to recognize and celebrate their commitment to service.  The inaugural TeenNick HALO Awards (premiered Dec. 11, 2009) featured LeBron James, Alicia Keys, Hayden Panettiere and Justin Timberlake along with an exclusive personal message from First Lady Michelle Obama.

*“Oprah has her network, why can’t I have mine,” Nick Cannon (Nicholas Scott) said about his new network TeenNick.

TeenNick, of which he is chairman, has launched this month a new series, “The Nightlife,” which features the latest trends in fashion, music, dance and entertainment for teens.

”It’s about teens. Where teens can come to find out the hottest clothes …the latest dance…,” he said about the new show, which he is executive producer. “It’s a voice.”

Well this month that “voice” will be made by legendary celebrity guests T.I., and Ice Cube, and the trendy New Boyz (demonstrating their dance craze) “The Jerk” and Travie McCoy. “The Nightlife” has teen correspondents Chloe Wang and Nick Cannon’s artist Aaron Fresh – who will perform.

“I did research…made graphics,” Nick said when asked how he was able persuade Nickelodeon (owned by Viacom) to give him his own network. He also pointed out that he spoke it into existence. “I was the youngest in a lot of things…and I’d always say I am going to own this channel. Throughout my career I’d say to executives I’m going to run this.”

Now, Nick Cannon does “run this” as chairman of TeenNick Network. At 30 years-old he is now the youngest, if not one of the youngest, black network chairs in the US.

Aside from “The Nightlife”, TeenNick airs sitcoms “Degrassi,” “Sabrina,” and “Drake and Josh.” Young people can also see shows Nick Cannon spent his teen years watching, such as “Moesha,” “Kenan & Kel” and “Saved by the Bell.” Other shows airing on the network include “One on One” and “Full House.”

Cannon’s father, James Cannon, hosted a televangelist public access television show in North Carolina. By age 11 Nick had a spot on his father’s program as a stand-up comedian. By his teens he moved to Hollywood – with his mother – where he performed standup at The Improv, The Laugh Factory and the Comedy Store.

In 1998 he was casted in the movie Drumline and in 2002 Nick was featured in his own series “The Nick Cannon Show” on Nickelodeon. The year 2003 brought a leading role in the film Love Don’t Cost a Thing and in 2005 he starred in Roll Bounce with Bow Wow. On MTV,  from 2005-2007, Cannon hosted his “Wild ‘n Out” show.

If all that is not enough Cannon is a rapper. He was featured on the soundtrack of “Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius,” alongside Lil’ Romeo and 3LW. He signed a recording deal with Jive Records in 2001 and his self-titled debut was in 2003. By 2005 he had formed his own label, Can I Ball Records, where he released a single “Can I Live?” that became a pro-life anthem song.

Nick Cannon married legendary songstress Mariah Carey in 2008 and today he is handling the networks’ development and creative concerns.

TeenNick is an American digital cable and satellite television channel formed from the merger of two former programming blocks for teenagers: TEENick on Nickelodeon and The N on Noggin. The channel features a mix of original programming, Nickelodeon-produced series, and acquired programs geared towards pre-teens and teenagers, primarily consisting of live-action sitcoms created by Dan Schneider.

As of 2013, TeenNick is available to approximately 73,443,000 pay television households (64.31% of households with television) in the United States.

TV channel (2009-present)

TeenNick was the result of the 2009 reshuffling of the Nickelodeon networks, creating NickToons, TeenNick, and the Nick Jr. Channel. The font was similar to the N in the newest The N logo.

In July 2011, TeenNick began carrying programs originally filmed for high-definition broadcast in a letterboxed format, due to the absence of an HD simulcast feed of the channel. As all Nickelodeon-owned channels do, 16:9 content is carried in a stretched format to fill a 4:3 screen. All programs produced in SD are aired pillarboxed on high definition.

Longtime Nickelodeon personality Nick Cannon (declared in publicity materials as the "Chairman of TeenNick") had a presence on the network until 2020, along with new programming exclusive to the network. TeenNick's afterschool to primetime blocks have been divided into two distinct blocks:

  • 3pm-9pm ET - Programming meant for early to mid teenage audiences (13-16), mainly older originals from The N era, and acquired sitcoms and other teen dramas.
  • 9pm-10pm ET - Programming meant for older teen and young adult audiences (17 and up), including new episodes of TeenNick programming and acquired programming.
  • 10pm-6am ET - shows from the 90s to early mid-2000s, including iCarly.
