Calculations:

Two dice are thrown simultaneously 

So, the total possible outcomes = 6 × 6 = 36 

Total number of events of getting a sum of 2 or 8 or 12

⇒ (1,1), (2,6), (3,5), (4,4), (5,3), (6,2), (6,6) = 7

So, the probability of getting a sum of 2 or 8 or 12 = 7/36 = 7/36

∴ The probability of getting a sum of 2 or 8 or 12 is 7/36.
