I have recently picked up a used computer from a garage sale that had the power supply and hard drive removed from it. I replaced the power supply, and moved 2 hard drives from my old computer to the recently purchased computer. Now I can get into the bios but I am unable to get anything to boot up past bios. I have purchased a windows 10 key but I can not get the disk to install windows 10. Any help would be great. The new purchase is an alienware computer that is about 7 years old. Show

Maybe you can go to Microsoft and sign up for the Windows Insiders Program. I'm a member and it's free. Once you do that you can get window 10 download ISO for free. Burn it to disk or extract to flash drive and then install Otherwise, do you have an older version of windows that you could install? Try installing that to see if it works. 0 CountMikeTitanOct 31, 201531,7642,483135,4908,018

You can't wipe the HDD from BIOS but you don't need to. While installing Windows, in one of first steps you have opportunity to delete all the partitions from disk(s) and let windows make what they need to. 0 B Sep 17, 201830100 Sep 17, 2018

Well, in that case it's not because of those disks. Disconnect drives and most probably it will be same thing. 0 suteckDistinguishedOct 3, 20101,292019,660109

I would start by putting only the drive that you want the operating system on. Where did you get the CD/DVD from? You said you bought the CD key, did it come with the installation disc? Where did you get the disc? Usually when booting from disc you have to hit any key to boot from CD. Did it ask you that or does it just say booting from disc and then goes blank? 0 B Sep 17, 201830100 Sep 17, 2018
CD was picked up from Ebay. And I have pushed a button and it just stays on that screen. And I have tried not pushing the button which it goes blank after a bit. |
