After receiving numerous reports from multiple users, we decided to investigate the issue and devised a set of solutions to fix it completely. Also, we looked into the reasons due to which it was being triggered and listed them as follows.

• Disabled GPS: As the error indicates, the most common reason due to which it might be triggered is when the GPS of the mobile has been disabled. The game requires the GPS and the internet connection to be turned on for the connection to be established with the servers.
• Permission Access: In some cases, permission to access the GPS might have been denied to the game due to which the error is being triggered. The game must have the permission to access the GPS because it requires that feature for some important aspects of the game.
• Rooted Phone: In some unique cases, the GPS error is triggered due to a rooted phone and it prevents the user from connecting even if the GPS and the Wifi are connected. A rooted phone is considered a security threat by the developers because it can run certain hacks/exploits that an unrooted phone might not run. Therefore, Pokemon Go might not work on a rooted phone.

Now that you have a basic understanding of the nature of the problem, we will move on towards the solutions. Make sure to implement these in the specific order in which they are presented to avoid conflict.

Solution 1: Turning GPS On

The error is mostly triggered if the user has disabled the GPS for the phone. Therefore, in this step, we will be turning on the GPS from the settings. For that:

1. Drag down the notifications panel.
2. Click on the “Location” button to turn on the location.

3. Launch Pokemon Go and check to see if the issue persists.

Solution 2: Changing Permissions

In some cases, the permissions are configured in such a way that the game is prohibited from being able to access the GPS. Therefore, in this step, we will be changing the permissions. For that:

1. Drag down the notifications panel and click on the “Settings” icon.
2. Click on “Applications” and then select the “Apps” option.

4. Click on the “Permissions” option.
5. Turn the toggle to “ON” for Location.

6. Launch the game and check to see if the issue persists.

Note: Also make sure that there isn’t any power saving mode on or a power-saving application that might be preventing the game from being able to use the hardware resources. Turn on the Wifi before launching the game as well.

If you're getting an error about not having a GPS signal when opening Pokémon Go on your iPhone, you there are a number of steps you can take.

• Switch Airplane mode on, wait a moment, then turn it back off. This resets all the radios and can sometimes get GPS to reset with it.
• If you're indoors, try to step outside, even for a moment, until the error goes away and your game resumes. This will allow the GPS satellite to locate your phone and synchronize with the game world.
• If you're outdoors but still can't find a stable GPS signal, make sure that Wi-Fi is turned on, even there are no Wi-Fi network to connect to. (Wi-Fi mapping is part of Apple's location services.)
