How to add photos to Facebook Portal without Facebook

Facebook is a key way for your business to keep in touch with its clients, and adding photos helps keep Facebook subscribers interested in your posts. You can upload photos directly from any mobile phone. This is useful for photoblogging special events, sharing brand new products before the "official" photos are taken or just sharing an interesting image. You can either log in to Facebook's mobile site or you can email the photos directly to your company's news feed. Android users can upload photos directly from the Gallery app.

All Smart Phones

  1. Log into Facebook through your phone's Facebook app, or go to m.facebook.com through the mobile browser.

  2. Tap "Photo" at the top of the page.

  3. Tap "Browse" and choose the picture you want to upload.

  4. Type a caption in the Photo caption text box.

  5. Tap the "Upload" button.

Email

  5. Type the caption you want to add to the photo in the subject line.

  6. Tap on the attachment button and choose the photo you want to upload.

  7. Tap "Send" to send the photo to Facebook.

Android Phones

  1. Download the free Facebook app from the Google Play store.

  2. Tap "Gallery" and select the photo you want to share from the library.

  3. Tap on the "Share" button at the top of the screen.

  6. Tap "Post" to upload the photo.

Displaying more than 50 photos. When I first got my portal I created a portal slideshow album on Facebook that has over 1000 photos and my portal used to randomly go through all of them. Now it displays the same 50 photos over and over. Why did you guys change this? ☹️

  • I'm having the same trouble with my 96 year old mother's Portal. I don't live in the same city, and it's been a great way to share photos, but every time I talk with her she says she's seeing the same few photos over and over.

  • I am exremely bothered by the photo limitations. It seems very simple to fix, so It just comes across as not caring.

  • Do you need facebook account to get photos onto portal Go, I've got whatsapp account added to it and also have Portal app on mobile phone but just cant figure out how to get photos from phone to portal. Thanks in advance for any help.

  • We bought a few portals to use as digital photo frames, as they're massively on sale due to being discontinued. Welp, we've just figured out why! I went and uploaded about 500 photos via the portal app (not from FB or Insta), and only about 25 are displaying. What a waste of money and time.

  • The issue is just defeating one of main features of the device! I am waiting for the software update though.

  • As a workaround I’m creating albums with 50 each, on Facebook, and enabling them to the portal in photos!

  • The portal used to display all the photos in my album. Not any more! I’ve reset it twice.

  • I'm having this issue where only a select few of my photos display, but now I have to manually keep setting it to photos, otherwise it stays on the home page.
What a waste of a machine eh?

  • I’m having the same issue. I had 200 photos and it was scrolling them fine but now it’s only scrolling the same 4 or 5 photos. I’ve done the factory reset but didn’t make any difference. Deleted all my photos from portal app and re-added them, still the same issue. This thing is just useless to me now.

  • What the heck happened! Why did portal/Facebook mess with this feature of displaying ALL our photos? We can only see a handful at best. I rely on this device to be my digital frame! I am EXTREMELY DISSATISFIED. Can you please explain why the change? I bought portals for my ENTIRE family and now I am so angry over this. Please fix it back to what it used to do!!!

  • I bought this to use as a photo album for my mom who is now in assisted living with Alzheimers thinking it would be a space saver and enable us to continue to share updated photos with her from across the country and figured this would be easier than the old photo frame that uses a SD card which is beyond her realm. It's a piece of ****. It shows the same 10 photos despite having hundreds identified for display. I have factory reset the thing and stated all over, but same issue. My mom has Alzheimers and can't turn it on and off when it freezes on a photo let alone factory reset the thing. On my last visit to my mom, I brought it home with me to use rather than have it sit in her closet. I have the same issue. So much potential, so much lacking.

  • 1000000% agree with this latest comment. The way we got it to work better was to use albums in the portal app. These seem to work better than plain Facebook albums.

  • Do you get the feeling that Portal support doesn't have a clue how to work the thing either? I've been back and forth with them for month on how to get my grandpa's slideshow to show all 400 pictures and they keep telling me to set up an album (that is what I did to start out with and that is where it is supposed to pull from) and then telling me an algorithm picks the top 50. It is a private album so no one interacts with so it is just the newest 50 which excludes all pictures of my grandmother. Not everything is a popularity contest and I wish the "developers" at FB would get that.

  • Same here! Come on facebook, you're making this portal useless! Removing video and only showing a few photos. Ridiculous

  • Yeah, same here, this is really disappointing

  • I’ve found that using an album of photos uploaded from the Portal App is much better than a Facebook album. We have 2,000 photos and having this running for a while we have seen a variation of photos come up.

  • Same problem, so frustrating
